WrenSong ("we," "our," or "us") operates the WrenSong mobile application and website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
- Messages and inquiries. When you contact a facility or send a message through the app, we store the content of that communication.
- Saved homes. We store the list of facilities you mark as saved.
- Visit requests. When you request a visit to a facility, we store the details you submit.
- Operator account information. If you are a facility operator who subscribes to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details — those are held by Stripe.
Information collected automatically
- Location. With your permission, the app accesses your device location to show assisted living homes near you and to calculate distances. We do not store your precise location or track you over time.
- Usage data. We collect anonymized data about how features are used (e.g., which screens are viewed, search filters applied) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
- Device information. Basic device and operating system information may be collected for error reporting and compatibility purposes.
Facility data
Information about assisted living and childcare facilities displayed in WrenSong is sourced from publicly available Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) records, including facility names, addresses, license numbers, inspection history, and enforcement actions. This is public information and is not personal data.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the app and provide the services you request
- To connect families with assisted living and childcare facilities and enable communication between them
- To process operator subscriptions and manage billing through Stripe
- To show you facilities near your location
- To improve app features and fix errors
- To respond to your support requests
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with data brokers.
3. How we share your information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With facility operators. When you send a message or visit request to a claimed facility, the operator of that facility can see your message and contact information you provide.
- With service providers. We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database storage, and cloud functions; Stripe for payment processing; and Resend for transactional email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- For legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WrenSong or others.
- With your consent. We will share information for any other purpose only with your explicit consent.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the United States. We use Firebase's built-in security rules to restrict access so that users can only access their own data and operators can only access communications with their own facilities.
No system is completely secure. While we use reasonable measures to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your choices and rights
- Location. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will still work without location, but distance-based search will not be available.
- Account deletion. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@wren-song.com.
- Access and correction. You can request a copy of your personal data or ask us to correct inaccurate information by contacting us.
- Marketing. We do not currently send marketing emails. If we do in the future, every email will include an unsubscribe link.
7. Children's privacy
WrenSong is intended for adults seeking assisted living or childcare information for themselves or family members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-party services
WrenSong uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and cloud functions (Firebase Privacy Policy)
- Stripe — payment processing for operator subscriptions (Stripe Privacy Policy)
- Google Maps — map display and location services (Google Privacy Policy)
- Resend — transactional email delivery for account and Family Watch alerts (Resend Privacy Policy)
- Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In — authentication only; we receive your name and email from these providers
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of WrenSong after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
